Information Abundance = World Chaos

Information Abundance = World Chaos

Our current state of technological advancement with the maturity of the internet and global social platforms has created the most information rich and interconnected world in the history of humankind. Not only is there more information available in the internet than in any library anywhere and in any time in history, but billions of minds from all over the world are exchanging information in real time 24/7.

While this is an incredible step for humanity, it has acceleratedly altered key socio-political structures of the pre-internet socio-economic paradigm.

Information availability for previously less informed social classes, countries and groups has created a massive knowledge-fueled political awakening. This includes masses of people from lower socio economic classes, people from developing countries, people from rights deprived groups and many other people that have been left out, for a long time, of the knowledge cosmos.

Since the establishment of the agonizing Bretton Woods accords era until recently, social hierarchies in countries across the globe had been mostly defined(I said mostly!). It used to be only the wealthy and aristocratic families who had the upper hand access to information due to the exclusive and prestigious schools, fraternities and universities only they had access to. Everybody else belonged to a lower level in the socio-economical pyramid mainly because they had less information. Information was a monopoly in the hands of each country’s ruling class and an interconnected international elite.

Today we have some of the best debates taking place at Substack, Twitter, Youtube and Reddit and not between Ivy league graduates but between all kinds of people from different social classes, cultures and backgrounds.

The actual state of affairs resulting from information abundance for everybody has made the world’s governing institutions and ideas inadequate, weak and hanging by a small thread. In fact, the socio-economic words and languages of our new paradigm have not even been invented yet.

This paradigm shift explains much of the intense systemic volatility and chaos humanity is experiencing at all levels.

It’s mind-blowing, today we have so much of everything going on. We have a class-heterogeneous crypto crowd rooting for a decentralized monetary system, a women’s rights movement in Iran, a WEF trying to install Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World” system, a potential nuclear war, billionaires pretending to be socialists, people mourning for British monarchs, multi gender believers, first world environmentalist groups advocating to ban paper straws, communist politicians in Latin America trying to revive “Che Guevara”, flat earthers, a man with dementia in charge of the world’s greatest army, central banks installing programmable currencies, and many more of the crazy stuff you hear about every day for which I could write a book about.

These are all systemic structural problems, mainly due to the information technology revolution. And the truth is, naturally and historically all technological paradigm changes cause social unrest, and not until social readaptations, collective negotations, and institutional reorganizations are fully settled will the chaos return to order.

So dear readers, hold tight to your seats, do your homework and love thy neighbor. This last one we will need.
