CBDC vs FREEDOM

CBDC vs FREEDOM

Today we can debate about who is winning the war, the ideal number of genders, paper straws or any other of the entertaining topics presented daily in our not-so-local media, OR we can talk a little bit about the new socio-economic system that is already planned and in execution by unelected global organizations and think tanks that will completely replace and change our current way of living — I choose the latter.

Global power entities such as the BIS, the central bank of the central banks, have plans already set in motion for the upcoming future of money which will add a layer of governance above whichsoever may be the leading superpower.

The BIS general manager, Mexican economist Agustin Carstens, has recently explained what the future of money and central banking will be like. He has made clear the next step is the adoption of CBDCs which are programmable digital currencies. As you should know from my other articles, ALL the central banks, “destra e sinistra” from east to west, from Iran to Mexico and from Russia to the USA, that is, I repeat –ALL– central banks are already and simultaneously developing their CBDC.

So what does programmable currency mean? Glad you asked. We are talking about a digital currency emmited by a central bank which is centrally controlled by a software.

With this software/program, the central bank will be able to absolutely monitor and direct the activities and consumption of all the currency users. Given that national currencies are mandatory for payment of every day transactions and the payment of taxes, the currency users means ALL of the country’s citizens.

The central bank, by orders of whatever type of government controls it, will be able to dictate what you may spend on, how much you can spend, when can you spend it and how much you get from X gov’t program or how much you get deducted from X tax program or penalty.

The software will not only be able to do the aforementioned, but it will also know exactly what, where and when you spend your money. Although not sure we can still call it “money” because the word “money” connotates some type of freedom, this digital token that could also have “expiration date” sounds more like a Cuban food stamp than what we define as money in the “free” world.

The system is already in place and being implemented everywhere. When did we have debates on the ethics and philosophocal implications of this system or regime? Who approved of it? Is this some sort of technocratic communism being imposed? Will there be a checks and balances system to prevent abuse of the system? We really need to start questioning all of this and more aspects regarding this system, because once the CBDC is in full operation I am afraid it will be too late to do so.
